News websites While some people did not know about the tsunami warning, those at risk such as beach goers, boaties, residents in low lying areas were notified reasonably well. I think those that went and stood on the beach to watch (especially taking their children) would have improved the national average IQ had they been washed out to sea ... |

Yes. tsunami can happen to any country with sea ocean coast - more especially with earthquake fault lines within 10,000 miles. did you go down to the waterfront to watch the tsunami? No. But went on ferrry to Waiheke. How did you hear about the tsunami warning? Friend phoned at 7.15am - friend had been up since 2am listening to radio. More comment to follow.... |
