2010-09-27 03:46:00 | Can anyone recommend a new Printer/Scanner.? Are the "Brother" models any good.? | Pato (2463) | |
2010-09-27 04:04:00 | Depending on which brother, the ink can be expensive to replace. I've got one here, which uses 4 cartridges. Its meant to work when one cartridge runs out. It doesnt. In the end, I decided to get a canon which only uses 2 ink tanks. A lot cheaper to replace them. And at least a photo looks like a photo. Only thing it doesnt have is fax | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

2010-09-27 04:38:00 | I brought this www.dse.co.nz about 2 weeks ago. Was $99 at the time, its now $109. Only thing is you'll have to buy the USB cable. Lucky for me, I had 2 spare cables And brought this camera, before I got the printer www.dse.co.nz Was $139 then now $169. A lot better than the cam I've got now. This is what I print from for photos. Pretty big, but its better than the brother. And at least its got the LCD on it, which shows you what a pic looks like (when you use a memory card). And at least it shows you whats left in the ink (without having to install a program to tell you)

2010-09-27 05:02:00 | Canon, HP or Epson seem to be the less problem ones. Brother and Lexmark, seen too many faults.........

2010-09-27 06:51:00 | Have a cheap Epson TX110 which replaced an older model Epson. Good for general use as scanner/printer but like most "cheap" printers, ink costs a bloody fortune. 4 colour cartridges @ $17 each isn't cheap, but that's for the high capacity ones. Really depends on what you want to do with it .... printing photo's .... cheaper & better quality at the Warehouse or Harvey's etc. Standard word processing ... never had a problem with Epson. | SP8's (9836) | |
2010-09-27 08:22:00 | Appreciate your further suggestions. The c170 looks nice but a bit pricey, but I guess if you want quality, you have to pay for it. The cost of cartridges appears to be the same for most printers, excessive!!
