1139572 2010-09-25 17:02:00 Hey all.

I'm posting this from my laptop because my desktop computer is screwing up.

When I start it up, it gives me a generic Windows 7 background where you would normally log in, but there is no place to log in.

I've attached a picture of what the background normally looks like, but mine doesn't have anything to click on or anywhere to type like this one does.

No amount of pressing anything on the keyboard brings any menus up. CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't bring anything up either.

The resolution is also very low and has black bars around it to where it doesn't fit the whole monitor. It's as if it is set on 640x480 or something.

I've tried adjusting my monitor settings via the buttons on the side of the monitor. I've tried messing with my setup and boot settings by hitting F12 and F2 when firing up the computer but to no avail.

Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

1139575 2010-09-25 22:26:00 Safe mode may well be the way to fix it. Boot into safe mode. Right click the desktop and check the resolution and frequency. Snorkbox (15764)
