1139506 2010-09-25 06:37:00 Hi Team,The new range of Canon printers, the mg series looks like a very good product.
My main interest is the MG5250 model.

Will it work with Windows 2000 pro sp4 ?

One Canon support man said no, one said yes.

The local shop sales man said no, XP, vista and win 7 only.

But looking at the Canon web site for the MG5250 under the driver download section there is some Win 2k aps. (drivers ?).

Does anyone know for SURE one way or the other please.

The same question goes for the MG5150 and MG6250 models.

Cheers,
Phil.

1139507 2010-09-25 06:37:00 I was going to get the 5150, but when I saw it uses 6 tanks, I dont think so. Thats worse than the brother I had. I'll stick with a 2 ink cartridge printer. Its good enough for photos. If one of them dont install any drivers then there's no point having any for 2k. Speedy Gonzales (78)
1139508 2010-09-25 06:46:00 Are there any drivers for it? If not then probably no. I was going to get the 5150, but when I saw it uses 6 tanks, I dont think so. Thats worse than the brother I had. I'll stick with a 2 ink cartridge printer. Its good enough for photos

I'm not sure what the progs are on the driver d/ld site.
5 tanks. the usual colours and 2 black, 1 for photos the other for text.

1139509 2010-09-25 06:57:00 I would say one of them will be drivers. No point having the other programs, if there are no drivers for it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1139510 2010-09-25 19:09:00 There isn't a Win 2000 driver for the 5250. There is some software but not a driver. You want to look for Printer Driver - ignore the rest. pctek (84)
