1140964 2010-10-01 20:54:00 I have downloaded a driver to try and get my scanner to work in windows7, but as this is new territory for me I am not quite sure how to install it. Can someone help please.? Pato (2463)
1140965 2010-10-01 20:59:00 Assuming it's W7 compatible.
Should be in the instructions. Install th driver first without the scanner attached. Reboot if necessary and attach the scanner.

1140966 2010-10-01 21:02:00 And if youre using 64 bit, make sure the driver is 64 bit as well. Or it wont work (or may not install) / or may crash the system Speedy Gonzales (78)

1140968 2010-10-01 21:04:00 It should be compatible with Win7. IF the driver was from the manufacturer's site. What is it? an exe / install file, or inf file and a few files? If its an exe file run it Speedy Gonzales (78)

I don't know then. If it's 32bit I think it might work. I have heard that folks have gotten discontinued driver support scanners to work in both 32 and 64bit on some "certain" scanners but not all. I guess you have to just try it out :D

1140971 2010-10-01 21:22:00 Yup but as Nomad said, dont plug the scanner in until you reboot the system (or when it tells you to plug it in) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1140972 2010-10-02 00:30:00 Yup but as Nomad said, dont plug the scanner in until you reboot the system (or when it tells you to plug it in)Unfortunately, it can't find scanner. I guess it ain't going to work.
Looks like my Printer and Scanner that worked well with XP doesn't like Win7

1140973 2010-10-02 00:33:00 Did you plug it in then turn it on?? Whats the brand/model of the scanner. What cant find the scanner, a program or the install? (did you leave it unplugged while you installed the drivers)? Speedy Gonzales (78)
