| 1140839 | 2010-09-30 23:20:00 | Hi all, back again. I have been use Comodo, for years, without and problems. Last few days been coming up saying it wanted to do an update. So I says, okay. Later comes up again, etc etc. Then I noticed the Comodo icon was not show on start bar. I checked Windows Security Centre and it said was still there.:badpc: Left it, like that, for about a day and then thought I better do something. I download the latest Comodo Security Suite and each time I tried to install it failed. So this morning I removed Comodo and installed Microsoft's Security Essentials. Only to find it had no firewall, so I turns Windows one on and used for a few hours and all seems okay. Not being a fan of Windows firewall I have downloaded and installed the latest Zone alarm. All that to ask, is this a good combination of firewall and anti virus? :banana Ian. |

| 1140840 | 2010-09-30 23:27:00 | What did it say when you tried to reinstall Comodo? What was the error? What version of windows is it? Thats right, MSE doesnt inc a firewall I wouldnt use Kaspersky, Zonealarm, or anything with the word Norton / Symantec in it. All of these are prone to either slowing down or crashing your system Did you uninstall Comodo (not delete its folders without uninstalling it first)? |

What version of windows is it? Sorry, again XP Home. Thats right, MSE doesnt inc a firewall. Yet they call it, "Security Essentials???? I wouldnt use Kaspersky, Zonealarm, or anything with the word Norton / Symantec in it. All of these are prone to either slowing down or crashing your system Our system has been slowing, a lot, seems better now. If you don't like Kaspersky, Zonealarm or Symantec, what would you recommend? Did you uninstall Comodo (not delete its folders without uninstalling it first)? Yes I did a full system uninstall, but left folder behind that won't let me delete. |

But I dont now. I dont use anything besides Vista's firewall. You could try Eset's AV and firewall, but its not free How much ram is installed? It may also depend on WHAT else is in startup. It may or may not affect how fast or slow it can go |

While there are a few "all-in-one" packages around, none of them are any good at it all. I use NOD32 for AV, Zone Alarm for FW and Spybot, Malware Bytes, Superantispyware and Conunterspy for AS> And I have never had an issue with my ZA, prior to this one I used V4 for years and years. This one is 9.1 |

| 1140845 | 2010-10-01 22:01:00 | Well its either comodo, zonealarm, online armour (but this doesnt have all of the features of the ++ or premium version). PC tools firewall plus (it may or may not have as many features as the ones you pay for). Privatefirewall (never used it), or Outpost Firewall Free. But it doesn't have as many features as the pro version |
