| 864387 | 2010-03-06 02:37:00 | A schoolbus driver was taken to court (www.nzherald.co.nz) for grabbing the arm of a rowdy boy who would not stop pulling a girl's hair. But the judge threw out the charge and had a policeman take the 12-year-old boy to the police cells as a warning. About time judges start using common sense. |

| 864390 | 2010-03-06 05:52:00 | Some Wellingtonian policy pedlar decided that since he had examined his vicinity and failed to detect any common sense in the office, it would be unfair if ordinary policemen were to have any. To this end he formulated a set of rules that bypassed any common sense and made everyone fill in so many forms that common sense is likely to soon become as rare in the field as it is in the policy making moronosphere. These rules have the (possibly planned) effect of making decisions in advance, at a distance; with similar success to meterological attempts to forecast things then penalise the gods if the weather does not comply. So far it appears that at least one judge has managed to avoid the new cult of mediocrity. |

Well, I guess whoever brought the case to court, (maybe the boy's parents/guardian whatever made the official complant) then the case was bound to go to court. Waste of space, waste of time and the bus driver should be commended. He should have suggested that the girl whose hair was pulled, pull the hair of the boy concerned. LL |
