1140984 2010-10-02 02:15:00 But did you check and see if there are any 32 bit drivers for it? And no 64 bit drivers wont workYes. There was only one 32 bit driver which is the one I have just tried and it couldn't find the scanner. It looks like I will have to buy a new scanner so guess I may as well get a Printer/Scanner. With I had never gone to win7. Nothing works. LOL. Pato (2463)
1140985 2010-10-02 02:17:00 Get teamviewer if you want. Install 7zip, it may let you extract whats in it. Then I can see if I can update what it said in that link Speedy Gonzales (78)

The scanner is nearly as old as I am, and I have one foot in the grave. I will just upgrade. Thanks for your efforts anyway. Pato (2463)
1140987 2010-10-02 02:35:00 As a last resort you may want to download trial version of Vuescan. That software may provide you a driver into Windows. Provided you can load the scanner software up ... Nomad (952)

1140989 2010-10-02 03:36:00 Yup probably be cheaper, getting an MFC (either printer/scanner). Or printer/scanner and fax. Speedy Gonzales (78)
1140990 2010-10-02 04:00:00 Yup probably be cheaper, getting an MFC (either printer/scanner). Or printer/scanner and fax.The problem is that there are so many to choose from it is difficult to decide which to get.
Thats life!!.

1140991 2010-10-02 04:10:00 I have an old Vuego Scan Brisa 640U made in 2000. On XP and ME it used a program called Mira Scan that no longer works on Win 7 32bit, so I'm just using the default Windows 7 scanner program and drivers with it. Works a charm.

:)I have only been on win7 a few days coming from XP (and I wished I hadn't) and am not aware of a default Windows 7 scanner program. How do I access it.?

1140993 2010-10-02 05:12:00 Have a read Of this (www.dummies.com).

If the Scanner works with Windows 7 it will show in the devices and printers. IF its working, it will show, and by selecting it, the "scan" wording will appear along the menu bar.

Not all scanners work on W7.
