Unless its someone to the left of Genghis Khan.

I just thought the word commie was short form for communist but I have been wrong before and will be in the future.

I am a WalONe believer,he is spot on.

This is true as Wal will agree.....

The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

You use it as a term of abuse applied to anyone to the left of your prejudiced illiberal attitude.

OT but did anyone else see a TV comedy called "Anyone for Denis?". Brilliant Brit farce with captivating one liners, double entendres - the works - screened in the early 80's. The story line was Denis wanting to escape from the old battle axe, so planned a weekend at Chequers with his golfing buddies. Unfortunately a meeting at No. 10 with the PM, French Pres, German Chancellor, and various hangers on was moved also to Chequers at the last minute. Mixed with HM Armed Forces, several Mr Plods, Russian spies, countless bottles of Gin, et al, it all went downhill from there. The actress playing Mrs T had every mannerism and way of speaking down to a erm ... erm, to a T. Brilliantly funny.

864933 2010-03-11 04:31:00 I recommend inviting any British miners who still survive to organise her burial. I am sure they would dig a deep enough hole to almost satisfy those of us who believe that no hole will be deep enough to stop her coming back from the dead.

Obviously none of the Tories here remember her attempt to impose a poll tax on everyone in Britain. Or is that another version of their much vaunted economic freedom?

Whenever I saw her on TV, I could never understand how she got elected - I was in disbelief that they couldn't see through her smarmy manner. Maybe she reminded too many Poms of the nannies and school matrons who used to paddle their little bottoms.

Still, maybe it is like Muldoon. When he was alive, no-one had anything good to say about him in his later years, but when he died, everyone - particularly the media - acted like the toadies they are and couldn't say anything true about him (i.e. all the bad aspects of our own home grown bully, who incidentally venerated Thatcher - the Pommy-bred bully).
