:)

Thanks very much for that!

Disappointing that I had to wait so long to see the Harvards and Vampires which were the pride of our fleet at one time.

At the time I think I was in Wgton having been recently married. My daughter was born 18th October 1968.

At one time I had a ride in a Vampire Dual trainer out of Ohakea when I lived in Metlaville. There were, at the time MustangP51 fighters based there.

865487 2010-03-10 12:03:00 An amazing day. I remember it well. Even have a home 8mm movie of the day somewhere. Tried to film the parachute malfunction through a pair of binoculars but it was a bit of a disaster. I must have been about 14 and blown away by the modern technology even then. If I had only known what technology was still to come!?!?! fnphoto (2434)

The chinless wonder declaring the place open.
Holyoake does not qualify to be a moron, that was WAY beyond his ability.

865489 2010-03-11 07:21:00 It was a great show -
The Harvards while always gaving a great display, their service in the RNZAF can be summed up, as RNZAF pilots learnt to fly in aircraft older than they were.
Today its still the same story, The Hercules and Orions are all over 30 years old.

Can't ever see there being anything like that in New Zealand in the future - NZ has distanced itself from our former friends and allies - primarily thanks to comrade Helen and her fellow travellers.

How 'bout that. My daughter was born on your daughter's 21st birthday!
