Edit: Listen With Mother, (UK childrens programme) are we sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin...the Herald calculated A$150,000 as NZ$187,500,000

Right, rewrite that a little,
A$150,000 a year = NZ$187,500,000
Dividing both sides by 1,000
A$150=NZ$187,500
then,
A$1.50=NZ$1,8750
So
To get $1 Australian, hand over NZ$12,500 (Plus bank charges)

That must be right; it was in the Herald AND on the internet. Fair dinkum.

865452 2010-03-10 01:53:00 Right now I see what you were going on about, its a typo by NZ herald.

I was going by real figures not some stupid News site. Maybe who ever wrote the article, if they had written 0's instead of letters the mistake would have been spotted.

With the kind of day I've had today, 1 million or One hundred - wouldn't make a scrap of difference.

Here's some old ( same old news) petrol's just gone up 5 Cents from this morning - some one must have coughed again.

The problem with NZ media, is that they are hiring young inexperienced reporters, who are cheap & low cost . I have seen so many mistakes made by reporters recently.
