1140418 2010-09-29 04:59:00 How can I get windows to trust my own macros in Excel. I have hust updated to Office 2010 and I can't get to run my own macros blennox (3452)
1140419 2010-09-29 07:58:00 Open Excel -- File> Options>trust Center>trust Center Settings> Macro Settings Follow the Arrows (www.imagef1.net.nz) - change to suit. wainuitech (129)
1140420 2010-10-01 07:52:00 Thanks. I've done that but am not sure what choice to make. The onl;y one that allows my macros to run is the fourth one(Enable all macros), but that has the warning about being unsafe. (Does this matter?). Should Trust access to VBA project etc be ticked? blennox (3452)
1140421 2010-10-01 08:09:00 Have a read of This article (www.eggheadcafe.com). I personally dont use macros in my work.

What you can also do, is open Excel, open the help Sections ( top Right, Blue ? ) type in "Change macro security settings " gives several options, Security settings.

1140422 2010-10-02 18:22:00 I've always found that when it set this up to use macro's (option 4) you have to tick "Trust access to the VBA project object module" as well if you are to use macros provided by other sources.

I went through a phase of checking option 3 and creating by own digital certificate but this can be a hassle if you are providing macro loaded spreadsheets for other users, or helping them set up excel to run macros.

You just have to be vigilant on excepting spreadsheets from sources that are not trusted as an Auto-Run on start-up macro may be embedded in the file.
