If the mother is charged with murder that would be very interesting. mother leaves child in bath and goes away and comes back and child got into trouble.

wonder what would happen if a mother put child to sleep in child's bed, mother goes into her own room and bed, mother wakes up in the morning and child fell off it's bed and is dead. would the police charge the mother with murder or manslaughter?

865169 2010-03-09 01:26:00 A baby is dead and the mother has to live with that fact till the day she herself dies, no one is in the right. Metla (12)

It's just a water-related accident. A tragedy for the family, but no one else has the right to charge the mother with murder or manslaughter. She's already charged herself with manslaughter and now she'll be punishing herself forever.

865171 2010-03-09 04:25:00 No-body has mentioned the water. What safety features has water got? What approvals or standards was it manufactured under? There's too much of this supplying of dangerous goods. The council should be ashamed of supplying unsafe water, being fireproof isn't enough. R2x1 (4628)

The boy's 29-year-old mother, who allegedly made no attempt to revive the boy or call for help, has been charged with his murder .

The fact she did nothing, while frightening is understandable, she was probably in shock . The PC police, prosecutors and everyone else will have a field day and probably give her a 20 year sentence .

But this is not murder, at worst it's negligence . Negligence would be manslaughter at most . . . I don't understand this . . .

Like Metla said, it's just tragic . Nothing more . The media is just profiteering for a sad tragedy .

To me it seems like a tragic accident, but there seems to be some history
with the mother if Child Youth and Family have visited a number of times
and the fact that the police may lay charges points to other issues with the mother. Most accidental deaths are usually handled by the Coroner
if there is no criminal case to answer.

:mad:Your second point of your post is silly. Have a think again about what you have written and come back again. Think of the big picture here.

865177 2010-03-09 22:33:00 Personally I'm happy to let the police look into and decide what if any action is taken.

When it comes to dead kids I can only feel a huge heavy feeling of tragedy and despair so I don't dwell in that space for very long.
