865150 2010-03-09 00:39:00 War veteran beaten up trying to help girl in distress:

www.nzherald.co.nz

he grabbed a boy's throat based on a belief that the boy was going to attack him. the whole article to me makes the War veteran to be the one completely in the right. i think the article should be neutral.

865151 2010-03-09 00:43:00 Its disgraceful to attack any elderly person for any reason*, even more so when part of a group. If I was a war vet I'd be disgusted at the state this country has sunk to. Was it worth their sacrifice?

Are you Lance worth the sacrifice these men made?

*any reason short of pedophilia, then they deserve the bash

Why not wait until the issue gets to court and we hear from witnesses who actually saw the event?

You can always lead by example and stay silent, and the rest of us can discuss current events,or not depending on personal stance.

The war veteran was totally in the right.
The key word in the article is bro.
Must have made him wonder if serving his country under fire was worth the hassle when bros beat up an old man.

865155 2010-03-09 01:41:00 No mention of cheeky darkies for once.

Reminds me two weeks ago when I was at North Harbour Stadium.

Had a group of well dressed young caucasians talking about grouping up and intimidating someone. I could have sworn they were from South Auckland just based on their language.

Leading by example means NOT beating the poo out of people.

Events are often misreported so why comment on speculation.

Also you may have noticed I'm not all that silent.

865157 2010-03-09 03:40:00 Hardly worthy of discussion, However your crusade to suppress discussion on current affairs until it reaches your criteria is not only misguided but pointless and offensive.

Leading by example means acting in the way you wish others would, In this case that would require zero input from yourself.

The only things that need to be neutralised are the pieces of scum crap that attacked this old man, regardless of what he did to the drunken moron who started it all.

"Grabbed throat based on belief". When a violent drunk starts swearing and yelling at you, what would you do? Stop being such a moron, please.....

865159 2010-03-09 06:16:00 I think you are missing the point.

The article clearly states "The man's daughter and his girlfriend were also assaulted."

What is going on with that?
