| 864285 | 2010-03-05 20:12:00 | I do not know if there is anything more gay than wanting to watch a tidy match of quality Rugby League, turning on the television, and finding that the League is on Sky Sport 2 while Sport 1 is broadcasting some shitty ANZ Netball Champsionship match. Last time I checked the channel is called a 'sports' channel, and Netball is a piss poor pathetic excuse for a sport. All they do is throw the ball to the same person everytime, who takes a shot exactly like the shot she took 30seconds ago, a.k.a shooting the ball into a hoop from a daunting distance of 30cm. It isn't even a profession. Rugby League is a professional sport. Some players in the NRL may be making in excess of $500,000 whilst Netballs are lucky to get $20,000 a year. Netball is only supported by women because they feel obliged to since they don't have another sport so gender orientated. Unfortunately for me, and most other people who actually want to watch a competitive and interesting sport, ANZ has forked out some cash monies to ruin everyones' lives and make Netball a priority broadcast. If you checked statistics I bet suicide rates have risen in the last year or two (and this isn't related to the depression). People need a pick me up in these hard times, and they get it from watching dudes getting mowed by Benny Matulino and Gregory Eastwood. So give us what we want and put the NRL where it belongs, in the box seat. The most ridiculous thing I saw was when the Warriors, New Zealand's only team in the NRL, was playing, and two Australian Netball teams were playing, and they put the Warriors on Sky Sport 2. Who the hell wants to watch Netball, LET ALONE two Australian teams play. Holy crap. And the Silver Ferns playing Aussie is always more exciting than the Warriors trying to compete with Aussie. But I do see your point - if league floats your boat. |
