1141846 2010-10-05 02:27:00 I have been having problems with my internet connection kept dropping thinking it was my Dynalink modem. I went and bought a new Linksys WAG 120N. Set it all up and got it all up and running. then it started dropping the connection again even on Ethernet.

I phoned my ISP Slingshot they suggested using another phone jack, so I moved the modem to the next jack and the modem is working good feeding the other 2 computer's wireless.

Then I tried to use the garage PC which is where I set the Linsksys up on and won't connect wireless Error message = Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you onto =

Then there's Validating identity in the wireless connections.

So does the the garage PC need to be hard wired with the Linksys in Ethernet only?

Which I will have to feed the phone line back from the good connection with a lead to try and resolve.

1141847 2010-10-05 04:46:00 Have you tried using a USB drive to transfer the router settings to the other computer ? Have the same router here and son's computer wouldn't connect automatically when he did a fresh install of Win7 ... used the Network Magic on a USB stick ... connected straight away. SP8's (9836)
1141848 2010-10-15 21:14:00 I'm still having problems with my connection I moved the router into the middle of the house for a few days, and the connection was stable feeding laptop & PC wireless. Moved router back to garage PC connected Ethernet and it was off & on yesterday, I'm using the farthest PC today wireless signal strength low but connected.

Who do I contact to test my telephone line internally I have my phone bundled with my BB with Slingshot. Do I contact Telecom or an electrician ??

Or do I need the Samaritans?:badpc:

1141849 2010-10-15 21:22:00 Have you tried updating the firmware on it / or both of them? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1141850 2010-10-15 21:23:00 Can you get into your router diagnostics? You should be able to see things like line noise etc.. post what you get here and we'll tell you if its ok on that side. SoniKalien (792)
1141851 2010-10-15 21:33:00 It is obviously an internal wiring/phone jack problem if it works ok on another phone jack. Have you got filters on all equipment connected to phone jacks.
That is assuming it is the modem disconnecting and not just a wireless problem.
