I am about to get up on a newly-retiled roof (pictured) to wash, sand, fill, sand, wash the horizontal weatherboards (the verticals, above the windows, I will tackle later).

My question is, without going huge expense and aggravation by getting scaffolding, what is the best way to clamber around the roof without accidentally damaging the new tiles? I know how to walk on the roof - I want to know what the best way of protecting the coloursteel tiles is while I am partially distracted with a sander...

I've already spent the last couple of months doing two and a half other walls - it's amazing the difference a couple of coats of paint makes!! Just this bit and one other side (a high one :( ) to go. Then I have to do the verticals (3 sets like the one pictured) and all the window frames. Yay.

But then I won't have to think about it for another 8 - 10 years!

I suspect "Want" is a little wide of the mark. ;)

866352 2010-03-12 07:03:00 Cat ladder sounds intriguing. Problem being what do I put it on - it would still crush the tiles.... johcar (6283)
