866443 2010-03-12 21:17:00 Thanks the Actrix looks ok 256k at $30 like now I am with Xnet or $40 for FS/128k. The Orcon Purple (non +) doesn't look bad either upgrade the 1GB to a 3GB.

I see Actrix has a $10 discount if you put your tolls to them - do you have to spend a min amount to qualify?
What about Orcon in this regard?

Just hang on and we will nip round and do it for you.

For Actrix, what are their prices for ADSL2+ just out of interest, I cannot seem to see info re: a diff series of plans for ADSL2+ like other providers.... We won't have ADSL2+ until Dec 2010 or Jun 2011.

To get ADSL2+ speeds all you need a FS/FS plan and connected to a ADSL2+ exchange. The FS upload is important to get the benefit of ADSL2+

Cheers for that. Unless I am mistaken, Actrix for ADSL2+ is cheaper than Orcon, doesn't Orcon make you get onto a diff pricing series for it? Like they have the Purple standard and the Purple +.

Edit, my mistake, the + series are naked ADSL ... :p

866448 2010-03-12 22:28:00 If you are on a FS up and down plan, you don't pay any more whether you are on ADSL or ADSL2. You don't have to spend a min amount to qualify for tolls discount like some ISPs do.

Meanwhile... I'm really happy with TelstraClear. My upload and down speeds are as good as can be expected.

Also, their helpdesk staff, when needed, offer great service.

My broadband adsl connect with Clear has been running for about 4 weeks so far; non stop.
