| 1142017 | 2010-10-05 18:54:00 | What are you recommendations here guys? I have recorded a series of programmes off TV to a DVD. Unfortunately, there are more Ads and Weather Forecasts than programme, so I wish to Cut the Adds and Weather Forecasts out and join the whole lot back up so it plays like a normal DVD. I did one some time ago using Windows Movie Maker but the outcome was less than professional with me not seeming to be able to pick the exact spot to cut and delete which I guess meant there was part of a frame missing or added. Anyway, I just thought since than there might have been a "user friendly" programme released that handles such a project. :thanks |

| 1142019 | 2010-10-05 20:17:00 | For mpeg2 - videoredo is great for simple cutting of adds, pretty simple interface designed for that purpose. For h.264 etc, (especially if Freeview|HD) sorry you're screwed, there isn't really anything around that will deal witht he audio stream. I think there's a Video Redo version that will take the Freeview HD but I haven't tried it. Then you'll have to convert to mpeg2 (if not already) and get a dvd author - i used to use TMPG DVD Author - but haven't done authoring for a long time now. |

| 1142021 | 2010-10-05 21:30:00 | What video format did you record it in? UDF Speedy. Windows Movie Maker handles it ok but I just can't find a way to get the cut exact without lopping off a fraction to much or too little. Probably just me not having a clue what I'm doing. Must check the library and see if there is a book Movie Making for Dummies. :D |

| 1142022 | 2010-10-05 21:39:00 | That didn't technically answer Speedy's question. How, and what format did you record these tv shows? What type of tuner card? Freeview (DVB-s), Freeview |HD (dvb-t), Analogue (mpeg2 hardware encoding), analogue (software encoding), recorded over the air, or via svideo/composite cable? This tells us the format of the video files, and then a authoring, or conversion+authoring method can be determined. :pf1mobmini: |
