1141165 2010-10-02 22:11:00 This is an old problem but I have the time today to try to resolve it. I am running Vista, hate it, but I'm stuck with it for now. Some time ago the media player stopped working, I never knew why, just click and it simply will not open. I have read a few complex solutions but thought I would try here first.
I cant open it from anywhere, not start menu, not icon, not from programme file folder. Just nothing.

1141166 2010-10-02 22:14:00 And there's no errors/messages? Go to run and type eventvwr.msc. Click on windows logs on the left and go thru application. See if there are any entries for WMP Speedy Gonzales (78)

1141173 2010-10-02 23:07:00 Weird.... Media Player is not on list of installed Programmes, is that because it is part of Vista? EFFIGY (12530)
1141174 2010-10-02 23:17:00 command Prompt gave this message
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
For example
C:Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

I went there and it tells me access is denied
