1142766 2010-10-08 22:26:00 Can this be done by one cable? nedkelly (9059)
1142767 2010-10-08 22:34:00 There are cables - such as this (www.trademe.co.nz) one. Sometimes they just don't work though, different standards and all that. wratterus (105)
1142768 2010-10-08 23:28:00 Note:Before place the bid, please be sure to check the manual of your system to make sure the Video Card of your system supports TV (RCA/S-Video) output through VGA port. Not every Video card will work with this adaptor. Only certain Video cards which have TV Output function built into VGA port will work through this adaptor.

:(

I must say I have *never* seen that option!
The ones that have a TV out option, have always had a TV out port, either Composite or Svideo.

1142769 2010-10-08 23:35:00 Like the auction says, your PC needs the feature to send the signal already from the VGA port, the cable doesn't do any kind of conversion which is what you need.

What you need is something like this: www.epanorama.net

You can buy converter devices ready built, too.

1142770 2010-10-09 02:06:00 I tried to build one that did the opposite, also tried to build a YPrPb > VGA converter, I got the luminosity signal going fine (the black and white part) but the YPrPb signal works out the green part of the signal by taking the red+blue values and assuming the rest is green, end result was very green the R+B signals failed.

But yes, your computer will need to be able to send the signal in a form the component will recognize otherwise you will need extra hardware as agent_24 stated
