868766 2010-03-20 21:12:00 Hi all, some of you may remember the Rugby World Cup spreadsheet I did, or the 2006 FIFA World Cup spreadsheet. I am creating one for the FIFA World Cup in South Africa and I'm looking for people with MS Excel version 2003 or 2007 to have a play and test it for me.

I am still about a week or so away from finishing my coding but I'm gathering names now in preparation for testing.

If your interested send me a PM with your contact details and what version of Excel you have (I will have 2 versions - 2003 & 2007).

Some features...

List of all the matches for the tournament
Clicking on a country flag will play their national anthem
Interactive map of Sth Africa to highlight all the games played in that city or briefly show you a picture of the stadium
Ability to enter the scores yourself or automatically update them from the web
Group tables that automatically populate points etc and rank the teams
Wallchart view of the knockout games
History of previous World Cup finals tournaments
Much more - try it :-)

regards,
Graham Paramore (aka Parry)

Nice touch with the Maori translation of the national anthem, too.

868770 2010-04-02 21:52:00 I'm not a soccer fan, but your Excel skills demand that I try it out (on version 2003).

Sure hope you'll do one for next year's REAL World sport cup... Rugby 2011! ;)

Yup will do. Did one in 2007 but hoping for a better WC result this time :-)

868772 2010-04-03 03:09:00 Excellent work Parry; you should make this available on the Mr Excel forum; there's a lot of football fans there I'm sure.

Just out of professional curiosity, how many hours did that take you?

Alot. Probably 50-60 hrs I guess as there was a bit of trial and error involved. Glad you like :-)

868774 2010-04-04 11:56:00 Beats the hell out of my one but then it only took me sixty seconds after a cut and paste from the official Fifa site and a New Zealand time adjustment.

This is superb.
