Multi-strand core introduces way too much capacitive effect which ruins efficient signal transfer. i seriously doubt you can find multi strand core cable these days. it went out the window over 20 years ago. even cheap crap cable will be solid core. cables are generally copper coated steel due to the high frequency signals used, there is the skin effect where the signal basically travels on the surface of the core. hence use the cooper on the surface on the cheaper steel. the main thing is finding sat rated cable. there is tons of home where sparkies have ripped off the owners by using non-sat rated cable instead of the more expensive sat rated cable. |
