1142763 2010-10-09 04:40:00 Umm what's connected to the 2nd USB port there?? A hdd or ODD has to be in port 1 or 2, if IDE mode is enabled n the BIOS. I've got mine on port 3 because I'm using AHCI Speedy Gonzales (78)

1142765 2010-10-09 04:50:00 Going by the dust build up on the fans and other components, it looks like its had a bit of usage.

The basic setup doesn't look to bad, personally I wouldn't set up the two SATA cables on 3&5 , I would set up 1,2,3. (thats just me though) It shouldn't really matter where they are, but sillier things have happened.

Just make sure that SATA cable 1 This one red arrow (www.imagef1.net.nz) goes to the HDD.

Try removing all the RAM except This One (www.imagef1.net.nz). try an install again. If it errors, try another stick of RAM - if that errors as well, its either a possibly a Board or HDD problem, its also possible one of the SATA cables is faulty - they can fail. Try disconnecting one of the optical drives as well.

Edited, unplug the SATA leads and give them a good blow out, there could be dust in them as well.
