1142212 2010-10-08 00:32:00 Reboot then press / hold F8 down. Then select disable auto restart. Then plug it in again. Take note of what the stop error is and what file it shows Speedy Gonzales (78)
1142213 2010-10-08 00:36:00 Not at all surprised the mini dumps are not showing.

Even if they were you need to be able to read them, and while that program gives a basic reading it wont give a fix.

BSOD is caused by one of two things -
1. Faulty Hardware
2. Driver faults.

Thats why its been asked whats the actual number in the 0x00000??

Agent posted one way on how to stop the PC from rebooting so you can actually read it - Has this been done ?

And have you reinstalled the USB drivers as suggested ?

1142215 2010-10-11 02:57:00 Was there a filename referenced on the BSOD screen as well as those numbers? Agent_24 (57)
1142216 2010-10-11 03:16:00 There is a hotfix, but MS site is saying its not available -- typical -- That could be because XP is no longer supported by MS.

Possible reason (support.microsoft.com) - but damn hotfix is dead

1142217 2010-10-11 03:30:00 Hotfix link works here its 5.8 mb. What if you plug it in, in safe mode? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1142218 2010-10-11 05:15:00 and on it goes, the hot fix didn't work except change the numbers a bit (0x804EF424 instead of 0x804EF304). It works fine in safe mode. the crash message also says irql_not_less_or_equal but thats all, no mention of a file name. I also deleted the USB drivers earlier and that didn't help. kiwibits (5574)
1142219 2010-10-11 05:35:00 Is Mcafee software on this?? It looks like this can cause that exact stop error

community.mcafee.com See the stop error by the 3rd poster. It maybe something (or mcafee), since it works in safe mode

1142220 2010-10-11 06:38:00 no Mcafee software, i have zone alarm and avarst but i've disabled them and still no change kiwibits (5574)
1142221 2010-10-11 06:42:00 I can check it with teamviewer if you want. I'll see whats in event viewer. You just have to install this and send me the ID and password, in a PM. I would say its something thats running why it doesnt crash in safe mode Speedy Gonzales (78)
