Just because she is an old does not mean she should not show some respect to a mayor. People like that should have a life ban if you want to abuse people thats your right but dont do it in privately owned shopping centre. Where does it say she is a few sandwiches short of a picnic ? She wasn't abusing him in any way, just voicing her opinion about him. She didn't swear or physically attack him did she ? |

| 868347 | 2010-03-19 19:09:00 | It was embarrassing for the chinese culture group and people there. In asian culture thats as bad as it can get insulting a guest and losing face. Its a privately owned mall they can do what they want and good on them. Sure the guy is a plonker although not as bad as our mayor harvery. When we get the supa city those 2 numbnuts are gone burger. The old ladies lift hasnt quite made the top floor no its still in the basement. No it was embarrassing for the mall. If the Mayor; for example was opening a new shop at the mall and she did the same thing I bet nothing would of happened. |

She didn't swear or physically attack him did she ? My wifes friend was there said the lady was out to lunch not quite there. Quite right it was embarrassing for the mall they invited the mayor and the chinese group they didnt invite the crazy lady. |

| 868350 | 2010-03-19 20:11:00 | My opinion is that there are far to many in this country, of all races and creeds, who are far too willing to kowtow to any authority figures without much skepticism about how they got to be in the perceived position of "holiness". Blindly bowing down to so-called superiors is a big problem these days. |

| 868351 | 2010-03-19 20:17:00 | The "raspbery lady" is not to blame. The fault is equally shared between the mayor's parents. One school of thought says "They should have dropped him on his head at birth", the other opinion is that they shouldn't have. | R2x1 (4628) | ||
| 868352 | 2010-03-19 20:32:00 | I wasn't there (but it is my local shopping centre), and would point out that that it is NOT a private mall (as alluded to by prefect in post # 2). As I understand it the shopping centre sits on council owned land (council = ratepayers). Andrew Wiliams (originally thought to be an improvement over George Woods) is a jumped up twit, who certainly deserves more than just a "raspberry" - I'm with pctek, R2x1 and zqwerty here. Being banished for two years from Northcote Shopping Centre is no great punishment either - the place is a dump these days. Dirty and smelly and full of shops selling crap goods. I don't go there any more. |
