| 867731 | 2010-03-17 08:52:00 | Be careful about ready made cabinets, kits etc. It was a long time ago, but the last time I tried that, I did a costing but also got a quote from a local kitchen manufacturer/installer. To my surprise the quote came considerably less than the kit set stuff and gave me a lot more and better made cabinets etc. Plus of course I had none of the work to do. Things may be different now. One of the interesting things that happened was that I also got a quote from a welknown and very expensive manufacturer, who sent a glorious looking upper class female who I doubted knew anything about joinery. I tested her by saying I wasn't sure wether to install a couple of 4 by 2s or a RSJ where a kitchen wall had to be opened up. She gave me a withering look and told me that they had a subsidury that dealt with the cheaper jobs and I should ask them. |
