1142942 2010-10-09 06:08:00 I have a machine that is running Vista Home Premium and it seems to be crashing whenever I use Google Earth.

At the moment the PC has 1 GB of RAM.

CPU is Intel Core 2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86ghz

Would adding extra memory solve the problem?

1142943 2010-10-09 06:16:00 It's more likely to be your video card (capabilities) or driver. SoniKalien (792)

Agreed but another gig of RAM wouldn't hurt the performance either especially seen as you're running Vista which is an absolute memory hog on a good day.

I would also set your pagefile to a fixed size... I have 4GB of RAM and also have a set page file size of 4GB as well, just to help things along.

Cheers.

1142945 2010-10-09 06:22:00 Does it also crash while playing 3D games, because Google Earth also uses the 3D capabilities. Do you have a separate video card, try updating the drivers. feersumendjinn (64)
1142946 2010-10-09 06:25:00 Video card is GeForce 7300 LE which came with the machine.

I have spare ATI 3450 PCIe Graphics card 256mb.
