1142852 2010-10-09 04:34:00 Hi i have a Panasonic DMC-FZ35. Specs here: panasonic.net

I currently have a 16Gb and a 8Gb Dick Smith SD-HC Card, They are Class 6.

I am wondering would it be worth getting a class 10 SD Card?

See link: panasonic.net

From the above link it would be cool if i could get the SD-XC cards, but i don't think they would work in my camera,

So i am wondering if the Class 10 cards be worth getting, and a where would a good place to get one from at a really good price, i would prefer to get a Panasonic one like the ones in the link above. And if finances allow probably getting the 32Gb one.

Any help would be appreciated.

1142853 2010-10-09 04:43:00 you can't use sd-xc with your camera. You can get through CT dpDesignz (15919)
1142854 2010-10-09 10:52:00 Thanks DP, yeah i gathered that i couldn't use the xc cards, and i am going to ask you for a price as well, will cu tomorrow. just wanting to get any opinions from others if it's worth spending the money to get the class 10 cards, i currently have a class 6.

thanks,

1142855 2010-10-10 19:54:00 Just be sure the camera supports class 10 cards before buying any, there's probably no real advantage to getting them unless you're shooting at high speed.

I bought some class 10 cards but the don't work in my video camera. My dSLR supports them ok though so all is not lost. :)

That said, you can get 16GB Class 10 Transcend cards for just under ~$60. They're not super-high quality like SanDisk, but I've not had any problems.

Check PriceSpy (pricespy.co.nz) and FlashCards (http://www.flashcards.co.nz) for prices. I got my recent ones from Aquila Tech.

1142856 2010-10-13 04:20:00 Ok, thanks, I am looking at upgrading and buying the Panasonic FZ100: panasonic.net

And i am after the Panasonic XD-XC cards, are they available in New Zealand, and how much. I would like to stick with the Panasonic SD cards, i don't want to start mixing brands for the chips of my camera, expecially since it is a god quality camera.

1142858 2010-10-13 19:57:00 Stick with SDHC (since the camera supports it) until the price of SDXC cards drops. Unless you have a great need for 64GB cards.

A 16GB card on my Canon 450D will hold almost 1000 photos and on my HD video camera will take just over 2hrs of video.
