| 1456243 | 2018-12-04 19:14:00 | Sea salt and rock salt are readily available. But what is the difference? Surely salt is salt - sodium chloride, NaCl - wherever it comes from. And I've even seen one brand that says it is natural salt. It even says it has natural iodine. You mean there is unnatural salt and unnatural iodine? Is it just an advertising ploy or what?:waughh: |

| 1456250 | 2018-12-04 21:37:00 | Food fashion, claims of some being "healthier", I guess the infinitesimal addition of a few minerals could be =but you'd need to eat bucket loads to make a difference. And it has had the side effect of causing an increase in goiters in NZ now as people went away from the iodised table salt we all used to us. I stick with plain, iodised salt, I'd rather have no goiters or other thyroid issues than silly overpriced salt. |
