The stereo RCA connections should work though. I actually have a 40inch veon myself, if I remember I will have a play with the menu and see if I can find ARC settings. Kinda tempted to get one of these soundbards myself so if you get it working let us know how it sounds :) You could try connecting another sound source to the red and white connectors to see if that works. |

2018-12-02 00:55:00 | ok so I bought a panasonic soundbar as it happens, went into the menu of the TV, push the left arrow once to get to the option screen, select the HDMI CEC opiton, turn on HDMI CEC, and then turn on ARC, then I had to turn my soundbar off and back on, and now it's working perfectly. | dugimodo (138) | |
2018-12-04 04:25:00 | What cables did you use, my tv does not have arc hdmi output and option screen does not offer any help as you sent me. May have to get extra cables | loftyboyd (1310) | |
2018-12-04 05:29:00 | What we did with ours is connect the Audio cables to the ( vodafones) Decoders Audio Out, BUT with a twist ;) We have a 3 position Switch so the output can be switched between the Media Center OR TV. The downside to having the audio going from the decoder is when the TV is switched off you still get the sound. But that's another reason for the switch, Position 1=TV, 2= Media center, 3= nothing. So its a case of changing the switch to 3 at the end of the night, then switching it back to 1 the next day, no big deal and works fine. The TV (veon) only has A/V In, not out and no ARC. Mines an older style dial switch, but you can get a more modern one, example from Jaycar www.jaycar.co.nz

2018-12-04 05:49:00 | I used a standard HDMI cable connected to HDMI 1 on the TV, then on the option screen (not the audio options) down the bottom is HDMI CEC and when you select that and turn it on the ARC option becomes available. I've had my TV a while though so it may not be the same model. Nothing on the TV says it has ARC except that it's hidden away in the menu and it works. The red and white RCA cables should work, just make sure you are using an output from the TV and not an input, mine has both. Input on the side and output on the back. In a pinch if nothing else works a 3.5mm to RCA cable should work connected to the headphone out of the TV - not the best option but it should function.
