1456063 2018-11-27 04:01:00 Over that car key issue I had with the new vehicle ages ago.

1)Napier court is the flashest, nicest court I have seen.
Clean, pretty and empty except for security people.

And tons of parking right out the door.
Amazing.
We were escorted through what looked more like a corporate conference room into a wee room with a videolink (Cisco) and had aircon switched on, water brought for us.
All staff were friendly and chatty, before and after.

Never seen a court like it...LOL.

2)It comes down to who they believe - me or car dealer.

He said he discussed the spare with me at time of car viewing (no he did not)
He said he offered his guy and said try him first and if no good, go elsewhere (No he did not)
He said I insisted on Toyota and Toyota are expensive (No they weren't actually if you look at breakdown of costs)

As I said, his guy I found, did not have the company he claimed (it doesn't exist) and in fact works for a lighting company.

I was asked about final phone call 3 times, He said he couldn't remember.

I can.

I explained what and why Toyota needed to do
He then said oh you can have an alternative.
I said I don't want any dodgy car thief hack jobs
He said - that's your choice.

So anyway, Disputes will let me know later what the decision is.

Interestingly he has emptied his car yard and the place is now empty. Hmmm....

Doesn't really matter what the Disputes outcome is, some bastards simply ignore it anyway unless its in their favor. ( only have to watch Fairgo)

Perhaps. He is still registered on companies and MVD.
Ignoring it won't do him any good, baliffs.....changing business name will though which is perhaps what he intends?

Well, I pursued it. Now I'll leave it...if I lose it, I lose it.

1456067 2018-11-27 19:11:00 changing business name will though which is perhaps what he intends? There are sure some dodgy car sales and other trades people about.

Hope you manage to come out on top with this. There's many times The TV show Fairgo run articles like this, some dodgy dealer, closes up shop, then shortly after starts again under a different name. If he's done you wrong you can sure bet its not the first or last time.

Just a thought if it turns sour -- contact-us (www.tvnz.co.nz) Deal to the blighter ;)

Don't think so, Fair Go has gone downhill IMO lately.
All about half full chip bags and hair dye issues these days.

I had emailed them - twice - about the key issue - as a FYI in general, not a whne about Mr Dealer...but nope, of no interest to them apparently.'

1456070 2018-12-03 03:33:00 Update: Court decided they believed him.
That is he offered "Try my guy first and if not happy, go elsewhere", which he DID NOT say, but it's his word against mine, and so therefore the law says if he offered, I lose.

Oh well, so I paid $10K for it instead.....most were selling for that anyway, and we still like the vehicel.

So I am not appealing or anything.

End of.

1456071 2018-12-03 04:30:00 No surprises there.

You were gone for all money when you denied the Dealer the opportunity to fix the problem himself.

1456072 2018-12-03 06:32:00 I disagree. He wanted to let his pet lighting company worker do an "alternative", whatever the hell that involved and he did not deny that it was to be a dodgy fix.
That is not offering to sort it.

He flat out lied about it in court.

So no, I am happy to have the issue fixed Properly, money or no bloody money.
It's the principle of the matter.
