| 1454123 | 2018-10-05 06:16:00 | I have some music on my PC that I would like to put onto a USB. The problem I am having is that the songs play perfectly on my computer but as soon as I put them on my USB they play with breaks/skips/gaps, not really sure what you call them but like bits of data are missing. I have been trying to find a solution online but have been unsuccessful. I read that I needed to change the USB Format to FLAC but I don't have that option, the only options I have are...FAT32(default), NTFS and exFAT, I tried FAT32 which is the default anyway and that didn't work. The allocation size options are 2048, 4096, 8192 bytes or 16, 32 or 64 kilobytes, I'm not sure which of these I should be using. The audio files are MP3 and I just don't know why it won't work, can anyone help me please? :) | DakotaNZ (17161) | ||
| 1454124 | 2018-10-05 07:02:00 | The files dont have to be FLAC. I have a couple of mp3 files on my USB that I take everywhere for testing audio, the Drive is formatted as FAT32, and they play fine from the drive A bit more info: 1. What OS ? 2. Are the ports USB 2 or 3 ? Generally USB 3 are blue tabs inside the port -- If using USB3 try USB2 ( black) Some devices simply dont like or work on USB3 3. What Media Player ? Some are better than Others ? 4. What make is the USB Drive, some of the cheap ones arn't very good and can cause all sorts of Problems. This is the drive I use www.adata.com Its metal as I was getting pissed off with plastic drives breaking. |

What it sounds like is your USB drive is really slow and not able to keep up with playback, that's why I say FLAC would make things worse because the larger files would need even more read speed to keep up. Is this a flash drive or a portable hard drive? and can you try it on another PC somewhere? |

| 1454126 | 2018-10-05 20:45:00 | OK so I put the USB into my PC and it played fine, that said my PC is probably a bit old now along with the USB so maybe they are a good match. The USB is just an old one that I had lying around it's and ADATA C008/8GB. When I play it on my TV that is newer (not sure of port types but the TV and PC both have black tabs) it starts playing up. Wainuitech where did you get your USB from? I had a look at your link and online but couldn't seem to find the same one, would I be OK if I just went out and bought a 3.0 Flashdrive that reads faster? If I did that would it work on any device older or newer? | DakotaNZ (17161) | ||
| 1454127 | 2018-10-05 22:25:00 | Not fully understanding your issue. I thought you transferred audio from your PC to your USB then you tried playing it off the USB on the same PC and this is where you were having issues. Or is the problem experienced on the TV? What's the make and model? Have you updated its firmware? |

| 1454128 | 2018-10-05 22:39:00 | No it played fine on my PC from the USB but it has problems in the TV, the TV is an LG maybe 2 yrs old, all updates have been done on it. At the end of the day this USB won't be getting played in the TV it will be getting used by my mother who has a wee stereo you can plug USB's into, that's at least a few years old if not more. I basically want to make sure what ever I do the USB will play properly on any device it might get plugged into. Will getting a 3.0 USB ensure that it works? | DakotaNZ (17161) | ||
| 1454129 | 2018-10-06 01:45:00 | I actually think the issue maybe with the tv. You may find it'll work ok with the stereo. Unfortunately, if the tv is up to date, then its probably very poor resources or software for it. Try the usb with only one audio file on it. If that goes fine then the issue is how long the TV is taking to see all the files on the USB. Basically means the TV probably won't play properly until its finished doing its thing till it reaches an idle state. It may mean it cant handle multiple tasks at once, so you maybe playing the usb in the middle of it still seeing whats on it. |

If I did that would it work on any device older or newer? I get mine from one of my suppliers, but they don't sell to the public they are wholesalers, then I sell through my business. But if you look at ADATA's site - Where to buy, select NZ (on the left) online and select a store, you will have to search for the model number UV131 and the results will show. www.adata.com Just tried another new one in our Veon TV (usb port), put on two mp3's - played fine. But the problem as its been suggested, may actually be the TV. |
