"A kludge or kluge (/klʌdʒ, kluːdʒ/) is a workaround or quick-and-dirty solution that is clumsy, inelegant, inefficient, difficult to extend and hard to maintain. This term is used in diverse fields such as computer science, aerospace engineering, Internet slang, evolutionary neuroscience, and government." |

| 1456076 | 2018-12-04 21:30:00 | When I worked in electronics we used kluge to signify a clever or sneaky hack that saved time or substituted for a better solution which happened to be unavailable due to lack of knowledge or relevant information or available parts. Re: prefect's comment, I saw a local using a yellow recycling bin as a trolley to move a fridge from a house to another place, the lid was used as a slider with the bin on it's back, lid open on the tarmac, and the wheels on the tarmac. The fridge was on top of the leaning backwards bin being pushed along. The lid wouldn't last forever of course but no worries as they were moving to a new place with another bin already there I guess. |
