1454492 2018-10-15 20:58:00 Two reasons why I don't use NOD32 nor FireFox :) Zippity (58)
1454493 2018-10-15 21:51:00 Well I have FF and Nod32, and I don't have anything like that.

Both the aliexpress.com/ OR aliexpress.com/country/nz-new-zealand.html

Nothing pops up at either

Check the date & time on your PC

try via the link below , you may be going to a bogus site ?
https://www.aliexpress.com/

edit, is your PC up to date with winupdates ?
Its not XP or Vista is it ?

1454495 2018-10-16 02:07:00 1101 nothing wrong with XP, seems to run quicker than W10, which is now "bloated" software on lappy.

FF brought up aliexpress no trouble. FF is a nuisance on XP tho bl**dy slow. Chrome/Opera much better choices.

ps. hope wifey realises the prices are US$

1454496 2018-10-16 02:38:00 LURKING Plenty wrong with XP & the internet . PLENTY

XP + security certs = fail. Seen it before, XP doesnt get the updates needed to auto accept some certs
XP + internet = real security issues. no more IE, Chrome or FF security updates for it . No more Windows security updates for it . B8gger all AV products support it

so using CreditCard on Chinese websites (or online banking) on XP... yep pretty smart :-)

Im not saying BkT is using XP, but if so, at your own risk.

Win95 runs much faster than bloated XP :-)
Something wrong with your XP if FF is so much slower than Chrome on it

1454497 2018-10-16 03:35:00 ps. hope wifey realises the prices are US$ You know you can change the currency to NZ ??

Top Right drop down Box, trouble is you have to reset it every time it doesn't hold.

Have to remember that when I order items.

As for XP -- as 1101 pointed out very dangerous, and not to many AV's will work with it these days. Its had its day.

Oh BTW-- As for it being faster-- Disagree, got a PC here that originally had XP, BUT runs a LOT better on W10, its just a case of turning off all the things you don't need to run ( in other words -- Know your OS) It also runs about the Same on linux Mint.

1454498 2018-10-16 04:39:00 Going off topic:

At the moment we are waiting for the fibre to be brought up to the house, then we will take the XP workhorse off the internet connection and replace it with W10, on a new pc.

Not everyone wants the "bells and whistles" that goes with operating systems, I still think of the "KISS" way of doing things.

1101, Still have the W95 and 98SE cds' around the place, rofl, their HDs' are lying about the house to, son-in-law is taking the magnets out to be used for something.

wai Wifey knows about the US$ thingy, thanks. Daughters are a wonderful thing to have, she put BH right, but son is in the Airforce up at Ohakea, so he is of no use.

wai you are about the age I was back in 1973, when a PC was thrown at us and we had to write programs for it, then in the early 1980's I had to write programs on mini computers for accounting functions, think the software was called UGEN.

lurking.

ps. our suburb was the first to have cable coming on shore at North Beach, pretty early with fibre as well, but the westies probably complained they were missing out!.

lurks.
