1454266 2018-10-09 22:40:00 Searched Ccleaner official site, couldn't find the portable version.

It's better to use the portable version or the install version?

The latest is version547, any known issues with this version?

1454269 2018-10-10 00:49:00 I installed the portable apps launcher and a bunch of programs from their website onto a flash drive and CCleaner portable was one of them. Seems just as good as the installed version to me.
Not sure how up to date their apps are but it seems to update fairly often when I plug it into a web connected PC and launch it.

I like portable apps, simple clean little launcher and I have a portable E-mail client, Browser, and various useful utilities installed so I can carry them around with me. Also you can still use the drive as a normal flash drive.

Anyway portable apps is another place to find a lot portable software and a lot of it can be used without their launcher (just a start menu clone that runs off the flash drive and keeps everything organised)

1454270 2018-10-10 01:19:00 Welllllll Hate to tell ya (not really) :p But even using the portable version STILL wont stop Ccleaner phoning home with possible information.

Just ran the latest Portable and Eset Endpoint stopped it 3 times trying to "phone home" if you don't allow it then the portable just shuts down and wont run.

When these alternative cleaner programs bloat out to 800M or well over 1Gb in size, I'd say those cleaner tools are junk that need a good clean out
:)

Windows "Disk Cleanup" and manual del of temp files is probably all thats really needed.
MS plan to remove (depreciate) disk cleanup from win10 though .

Has it been mentioned... Their slim (and I guess portable download, too) release comes and goes with each new version upgrade. When a new version is released, they'll remove the other downloads - for, like, a while; dunno -exactly- how long it takes, but they come back.
