870152 2010-03-27 07:08:00 I feel proud to say that after buying Half Life 2 and getting screwed over by Steam(ing pile of sh!t) I will never buy anything that resides exclusively on Steam ever again.

They don't deserve money for such a crappy program, and I am certainly never going to give them a cent more.

870153 2010-03-27 07:23:00 There's some games now that are worse. Similar to DRM. You have to stay online if you play the game. Keep the CD in the cdrom. Get disconnected, then you may not get back in Speedy Gonzales (78)

Exactly, and I refuse to buy anything like that either.

Enough people do it and the game publishers will realize they should stop with the copy protection.

Not to mention it usually doesn't stay protected for more than a week (usually not even 24 hours)

870157 2010-03-27 07:53:00 Even the people who claim to have never pirated probably have by accident several times. Agent_24 (57)

That won't happen.
What will happen is they will stop writing games for the PC and concentrate on consoles only.

870161 2010-03-28 00:28:00 We were pirating well before it became so easy and so fashionable.

We were recording friends' LPs to cassette long before pirating became a naughty word. There was no such thing as copy protection in the 70s.

It took much longer - of necessity it needed to be done in real time - but the result was the same.

I have many pirated open reel and cassette tapes in my collection which I still listen to.
