I mean that you buy the game, put it in your console, and it works! The DRM is there, but it's so much more transparent, and doesn't hold you back like some PC games do (I.E. no internet connection = no game for some). That's not to say I don't like modchips. I have a chipped xbox lying round, but I don't play pirated games on it (well, not many). It's so much more useful with a chip though. It's my main media center. |

| 870112 | 2010-03-27 20:42:00 | Screw the PC. I downloaded the demo for Just Cause 2, 2.5GB, It installed steam, then wouldn't run without connecting to the net and updating steam. That's just stupid, The download and install was big enough, I have the game files, I want to run the damn thing to see if I like it, The aim of a demo is after all to sell the game. Anyway, After blocking all the tendrils via my firewall the game wouldn't launch, so I uninstalled it. So, I downloaded the demo for Settlers 7. 1GB After installing the game an app launched called Ubisoft game launcher which tried to connect to the net, Blocked it, Then had to manually close Ubisoft app as it stalled in eternal loop. Disabled my internet connection and tried again, was given error message stating the game required an internet connection. Screw that crap. Uninstalled, and what do you know, Ubisoft Game Launcher was left installed even with the demo removed :stare: Wonder what crap they installed as part of the package that isn't obvious. |
