1144287 2010-10-13 01:19:00 I assume you have a printer already .... some of the printer/scanner combo's go really cheap at times ... like under $100 from most places. Cheaper than stand alone scanners at times.

1144288 2010-10-13 01:30:00 If you want a printer/scanner this is a good one. And it prints good photos

Go this about 3 weeks ago to replace the brother printer (since it only uses 2 ink cartridges not 4)

1144289 2010-10-13 01:37:00 Speedy .... just out of interest, how long do the colour cartridges last in the Canon if you're doing photo's ? Just want to try and compare with my Epson. SP8's (9836)
1144290 2010-10-13 01:46:00 Umm I'm still using the original cartridges it came with at the mo. I brought this printer on 19/8, printed umm at least 10 photos on glossy paper. And printed quite a few letters / envelopes (in B&W), and both cartridge are about 1/2 way

What I like about this printer is, its got a memory card slot, and LCD, and just in case you forget to open the paper out tray, it opens automatically. And both cartridges are just over $70. Whereas the ink for the brother is over $120 (for 4 of them)

I was told by DSE that the original ink carts wouldnt last long (like about 20 prints or something). IMO, both have lasted longer than what DSE and I thought.

1144291 2010-10-13 02:03:00 20 = 200 prints. I think it was Speedy Gonzales (78)
1144292 2010-10-13 07:42:00 Thanks for the answers. It seems strange that to buy a cheap scanner you have to buy a printer/scanner combination. Bobh (5192)
1144293 2010-10-13 07:45:00 Define cheap? Snorkbox (15764)
1144294 2010-10-13 07:52:00 Around the $100 mark. Bobh (5192)
1144295 2010-10-13 08:33:00 Well the link I gave is under $100. Most of the more recent scanners come with printer. It's probably a lot cheaper than a scanner by itself Speedy Gonzales (78)
