1144034 2010-10-12 08:16:00 I've just been called by a man talking about cheap accommodation in Australia and New Zealand which I actually needed . I've goggled the company he said he is with(Smart Get Always) but nothing at all came up. Has anyone heard off this company or is this a new scam? I think every company now should have a website especially accommodation :annoyed::help::annoyed: PC builder (15482)

1144037 2010-10-12 09:01:00 It is too good to be true. Check out how much a five star hotel normally costs www.fivestaralliance.com or Google similar. There is a lot of scammers phoning to collect your money before you find you've been had. Don't forget he will have to collect a commission out of what you pay, only trouble it will probably be 100% PPp (9511)
1144038 2010-10-12 09:26:00 But why would he call you? Had you inquired/called about loans, travel, or insurance, of which he may have found out. I have seen it done with staff at work a while back a few times. kahawai chaser (3545)

1144041 2010-10-12 09:55:00 We had the same phone call a few weeks ago. It was a little more worrying for us as we have an unlisted number. I suspect we somehow got added to their spam list when we travelled overseas recently. My wife asked the person who called us how they got our number and all she could say was that we where on their customer list. LiquidSolidity (1589)
1144042 2010-10-12 10:06:00 There's only one thing worse then a door to door salesman, thats a telemarketer! Both try to sell you stuff you don't know the value\worth of without being able to compare it to other products, if you are interested. Both disappear after the sale and who knows about after sales service? How do you know they are legit? At least you see the "honest" face of the door to door salesman. PPp (9511)
1144043 2010-10-12 19:44:00 They rang me once. I agreed. They wanted me to pay their account online - told them I didn't have a PC, they then asked for credit card - told them I didn't have one. (or was it the other way round?)
At which point the rude lady hung up on me.
