871761 2010-04-01 07:37:00 I went out and got my a WDTV-live box today.

this is a magic little box that connect to your network and your TV and lets you watch video from the network.

$325 from DSE, may have got it at a better price on-line but it was a bit of an impulse buy.

has HDMI out, USB storgae support, remote control.

easy setup, just plug it in and it works.
it found the network using DHCP, located the internet, found new firmware and asked to do an update.
then it found my samba shares with no issues.

super easy to use, set-up and running quicker than getting pizza delivered.

only real thing that I would have liked to see is an HDMI cable in the box, after all it's an HD device, most TV's use HDMI in todays world.

very happy, $$ well spent.

871762 2010-04-01 07:56:00 Yeah it's very cool! I chucked up a quick review on my blog.

They're great in that they also share the USB drives plugged into them, so I just use the WDTV Live as a NAS :D

The little remotes *nice* but the buttons are a little stiff at times...
