871632 2010-04-01 02:48:00 NZ Herald headline.
Since Police Minister took office the level of crime has gone up. The Minister is 'shocked' (Like it all came as a surprise? Doesn't the Minister get regular updates?) but is pleased Police are resolving more crimes. I wonder if the resolution rate is even keeping up with the crime rate? Maybe the crime rate has increased 10% and resolution rate has increased 5%.

871633 2010-04-01 02:53:00 The Police Mimister blames it all on the previous Govt as the National reforms have not yet sunk in. Besides that the Stats published are not up to date. Sweep (90)
871634 2010-04-01 02:54:00 More home detentions and diversions.

That will fix it.

871635 2010-04-01 03:59:00 Tram tickets, whether wet or dry are getting hard to find these days.

I hope you realise that home detentions are not the soft option some people think; the prison service doesn't deliver TV sets to out of gaol crims, only the insiders get those.

871637 2010-04-01 04:56:00 Of course the violence and crime rate have absolutely nothing to do with the state of the economy for the last 25 years, the down-grading of social services, the breakup of the unions and the alienation of the common citizen in general from feeling part of a coherent whole which has a rational master plan for the future. zqwerty (97)

Quite right zqwert, why don't we learn from Russia and China, where there isn't any crime.

Yeah what a bad taste comment when a whole lot of people just got blown to bits on a Russian train. You're back in fantasy land again though no doubt.
