871059 2010-03-30 04:34:00 Thought I might try buying music for once. So I loaded up itunes and went to enter my debit card details. Itunes didnt seem to like my card so I picked up a gift card at DSE today. Anyway, I got home, scratched the label off and I can read about 2 letter of the bloody code. So I searched for Apples suport number and all I could find under NZ was some 00800 number. I didnt think this was right so I rang DSE and they said, no thats the number. So I rang them, stayed on hold for 10minute and got told that I had to contact apple support but there wasnt actually a number to call so I would have to email them and wait 24 hours for a reply. So I got to the site and found the email form and sent it off.

Yet if I pirated the album I wanted I could have it in about 30sec...

[edited] you Apple.

That code problem was on the consumer website. www.consumer.org.nz

Take it back to them for a refund, and print off the consumer article, as they are not fit for purpose. YOu shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to contact apple.
I had heard that the warehouse or someone else was offering 2x$20 itunes vouchers for $30

PS. That 00800 number works, but you get put through to india, and they aren't very helpful. In my case they said they would sent through a case number, but never heard back from them. In the end took it to the retailer to sort out.

871066 2010-03-30 05:22:00 Screw iTunes, you should be glad they won't take your money.

Go and buy the CD instead, it will be better quality and won't get lost if your hard drive dies or Apple decide to do something DRM related and block you from listening to your download

871068 2010-03-30 05:42:00 Download the music from Digirama (http://www.digirama.co.nz/) - lot better service than Itunes, no DRM either and if theres a problem they are in NZ and answer real quick.

Digirama charge less than Itunes for the exact same thing as well.

Last time I had a problem with digirama, the music wouldn't download after paying for it - I emailed them on a Saturday around 10am, expecting to have to wait till early the next week even for a reply - BUT  By 11am they had found and fixed the problem and credited me a couple of songs for the muckup.

Had problems with passwords on Itunes, because it was in the USA, it took a couple of days to fix, but they got it sorted.

Never had any problems paying for stuff off of Itunes, not when using a REAL credit card, not those hyped up gift card type things :yuck:
