If you lock your wife and your dog in the boot of your car for an hour - when you open the boot, who is going to be the happiest to see you!?

If it was a hungry dog when you put it in the boot with the wife then there is a fair chance that you and the dog will be happy.

The wife should not be saying much. On the other hand the wife may have killed the dog in which case you have just lost your best friend.

Personally I would not put either of them in the boot in the first place.
