2010-03-28 23:10:00 | Last week bought my new Nokia E63 from them. Really great service. | nedkelly (9059) | |
2010-03-28 23:12:00 | I have - but I live just around the corner from them, so it wasn't an online transaction. Bought a GSM phone for my daughter. Haven't had cause to go back to them, but they seemed pretty professional. It's always better to buy from someone who actually has a shop front, at least if they are relatively new on the scene, and may not have a reputation (good or bad) yet... Tell you what, if you buy and have to return it, and then get an unhappy experience, I'm happy to be the grumpy customer in their face on your behalf... Actually, thinking about it - my colleague bought a Nokia from them, then a few days later exchanged it for a (cheaper) E66. He had no problems.

2010-03-28 23:16:00 | Apart from this thread, I've heard nothing good about them. www.gpforums.co.nz They are the only store with 1 star. I wouldn't touch them with a 40ft barge pole. Granted, if you're going in store it's a bit different from buying online, but still.

2010-03-28 23:36:00 | Stick with DSE or any other reputable seller who actually knows the meaning of the words 'warranty' and 'service'. If anything goes wrong with your iPod, the run-around E-I will give you will cost far more then a few bucks of savings. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2010-03-29 00:28:00 | Cheap isnt always the best. Only thing wrong about DSE are that the people serving are too young and dont too much about the products. At least if the thing craps out, and all this commy chinese stuff does crap out you get get it sorted. You buy it cheaply from a non multi store struggling electronics shop the person will probably run for cover when you bring the thing back playing up or dead. I sometimes get asked for a quote/price/estimate on jobs and every time I say one thing and one thing only" it costs whats its going to cost" if they ask again the reply is "****loads". If they say the word discount I start collecting up my tools. My theory is with machinery if you discount and its a comeback you will start to lose money on the job. Customers can be ***** if you say change a track motor on the digger and say the alternator ***** itself its your fault.

2010-03-29 00:44:00 | The actual yardstick for how good they are is how they respond to problems; anyone can take your money and send a product, but trying to get some action when things go wrong is what separates the good from the bad; I used the above once to get a PI camera for a friend . Camera was well under NZ $RRP, and arrived quickly, but developed a fault not long after, and they didn't want to know - didn't reply to her e-mails, never got back her when she rang, denied there was anything wrong with it . . . . etc etc . Would never use them again - stick with the big 3 (Ascent, Computer Lounge, Playtech) and you won't have any problems .
