870539 2010-03-28 04:00:00 Just extending thanks to Wratterus who went out of his way to meet me outside his work and hour earlier than they open just so I could pick up a CD with Win Vista on as I was passing through Motueka to go caving for the weekend. As you can see I made it home safely and can now say that we finally reached the bottom of Corkscrew cave after 3 years and several attempts, I even made a sacrificial offering of my ex 50m rope (now 20m & 30m) so that we could get down the last abseil. gary67 (56)

870542 2010-03-28 05:43:00 I wish Trev.

No on the scale of things what Kieren and co have achieved is far far greater, than what we have done. To get over a KM underground they have had to fly in at least 2 net loads of gear and camp out in an alpine environment for 10 days at a time

870543 2010-03-28 05:44:00 If I had a chance to get shot of a copy of Vista, I'd be out & about early too ;)

Did Vista break the cave and let you get to the bottom of things?

870544 2010-03-28 05:46:00 Wasn't for the licence just the disc as stepson cannot afford to upgrade to Win 7 so have to use his existing vista licence when his new HDD arrives tomorrow gary67 (56)

870546 2010-03-28 21:33:00 I have nothing but admiration for you guys who go 'caving'. I would be in a state of sheer terror once I could no longer see the blue sky above me. The worst part would be squeezing through a narrow gap and not being able to get back...real claustrophobia stuff methinks. I'll definitely stick to surface activities. :) Richard (739)
870547 2010-03-28 22:00:00 No danger really - Mot is quite safe after sunrise, as the rear-assault wombats are strictly nocturnal . . . . . . Rumours abound though, that smearing oneself with Vegemite can bring them out . :xmouth: nofam (9009)
870548 2010-03-28 22:55:00 Mot me old home town, hope you guys are taking good care of it.
Werent any wombats in my day unless they were also known as Aussie seasonal tobacco workers.
