| 870495 | 2010-03-28 01:33:00 | Australia maybe the best cricketers in the world, but boy are their TV ads MENTAL! Those Dominos pizza ads and the Pizza Hut ads are just purely DU MB! For example, the Pizza Hut ad with the girl running in the park: she overhears a conversation from 2 guys about 30 metres away and she gets involved saying some particular pizza (I can't remember which one) is number 1. She then stops to eat pizza as if that was a normal thing for a jogger in the park to do! With people who I presume are complete strangers! Mental as anything (now they had a good single back in the 80s and were Australian too). There are plenty more dumb ads from Aus, what's with those Colgate ones where the audio is always out of sync? And it seems that quite often the voices don't even match the actors, are they overdubbed or something? |

| 870500 | 2010-03-28 02:47:00 | I remember a few years ago a American KFC ad with Australian voice overs. Imagine an American fire trunk racing thru town with the fire crew having Ozzy accents. Sounded terrible. I remember back in the early days of Australian TV all TV ads from overseas had to be remade in Australian or if the couldn't they had to have Australian sound tracks. It was to protect the Australian advertizing industry from companies bringing bringing in those cheap overseas made ads.. Thank god it wasn't the same way here.. |

They seem to be european versions, redubbed really, really badly. Doesn't make much sense either (OH NOESS!! NOT SOAP SCUM!! THE WORLD WILL END IF I DON'T GET THAT OFF IN THIRTY SECONDS!!!) Honestly, when I really need to clean a wall or something, I just use methylated spirits. Smells pretty good too. |
