| 871348 | 2010-04-01 03:49:00 | You have to be kidding. Stinking hot and humid in summer and pissing down all winter. here we have mild frosts in winter and lovely non humid hot in summer. www.southernwiderealestate.co.nz Listing # SWG444 What to buy a house? That is a pretty radical "mild" you have for the frosts. Then there's the rain that washes the frost away about 9 o-clock, just before it gets light - - - Admittedly Auckland frosts aren't as pretty as the way-down variety, but you have an extra 6 months of winter down there to practise chilling out. |

And here I was envisaging you living in a wee house with neighbours so far away you would have to walk for 10 minutes to get to their gate! You're in suburbia there! |

| 871352 | 2010-04-01 04:28:00 | I would have thought renting out your house and subsidising your rent in Auck? | Cicero (40) | ||

| 871354 | 2010-04-01 05:56:00 | I would have thought renting out your house and subsidising your rent in Auck? That only works if there's no (or very little) mortgage on the house. If there is a mortgage, then all the rent would go towards paying the mortgage, and pctek would still need to find the money from somewhere to rent in Auckland. That said - provided she can find a tenant, renting out her existing place does make sense. The tenant should hopefully cover whatever debt exists on the property, and you don't lose a valuable fiscal asset. |
