870833 2010-03-29 09:02:00 Really? The phone got a problem within a week? And they were really great about the replacement?

Because that's how you tell - any *^$#% will happily SELL you something - it's the after sales service that separates the good stores from the bad.

wait what? My phone is going perfect.

I think pctek is getting confused with my post - my colleague bought a "bells and whistles" Nokia (can't remember the model), then decided he preferred a cheaper model - an E66 (which another colleague also has). So he arranged a swap - there was a re-stocking fee involved, but it wasn't unreasonable, and he walked away a happy man. The were no arguments at the shop, they were very obliging.

870834 2010-03-29 13:29:00 I'm unhappy with them. Asked for a change of address for a mobile to be posted to. The woman on the line said she changed it but it ended up at a different address.

Chased up with Expert info. A lady chased it up for me saying the address which was suppose to be sent had problems. She said something about that the couriers were confused about the street name . It seems that there were two street names in new zealand thats called Clawton street?
Fail service really.

Had other buyers coming to me saying that their service is really bad . If there's problems with your product don't expect to get it fix

870835 2010-03-29 18:21:00 I would *strongly* recommend you either purchase it from DSE, or don't purchase it from them. It's simply not worth the heartache.

This is going back a few years now (Yes, they've been around a while) and I purchased a laptop from them. It developed a screen issue after a few months that should have been a warranty replacement, but they stuck to their guns and wouldn't have a bar of it. I was *pissed*... They spent more time arguing about not taking it back under warranty than it would have taken for them to RMA.

Anyways, I'm surprised that PBTech are on that list under a 2.5 ... I've made 4 warranty claims (Yes I've been buying a lot through them) over the past 3-4 months and every single one has been handled *very* quickly and incredibly well. Oh well, can't win 'em all I guess :p

870836 2010-03-29 18:52:00 I think pctek is getting confused with my post -.

I'm not all confused.
I am trying to get the point across that you cannot rate a store by a sale - only by after sales service.

Most of these places with a bad reputation get it by poor warranty service and so on.

They didn't get that rating from being wonderful.............

870837 2010-03-29 19:56:00 There are definitely dodgy retailers out there but it's the usual story. If a person feels hard done by they will tell everyone they know along with others they don't know.

On the other hand if they get good service they are not nearly as vocal about it.

I've bought a heap of stuff from PBTech in the past and have only had to return two items both of which went without a hitch.

870839 2010-03-30 00:02:00 The cellphone I got from there is a parallel import. It's not a NZ version.

The Nokia manual was multi lingual but the keypad had asian characters on it as well as English, the box was too.
