870603 2010-03-28 08:39:00 So is that 5000 texts for 10$? Hmm, you'd have to convince all your friends to sign up to 2Degrees
500 texts

A pity they are only 2g at the moment. 3G call quality is so much clearer. Shows how much they make from txt messaging.

I understand from Bell South days, that the actual cost of a text message is a fraction of a cent per each. So yes, they have all been raping and pillaging for years.

Maybe the encumbents should include a skull and crossbones, an eye-patch, a peg-leg and a parrot in their respective logos.....

Alternatively, horned helmets, longships, battleaxes, big bushy beards and names like Sven or Erik....

Or maybe those concepts are too civilised....

Yeah, although isn't that something to do with the termination fees. eg. They charge each other a fee when someone sends a txt across the networks. Overall this means that both VF and TC are sending each other these fees, which ends up almost canceling each other out with one another. Consumers end up paying more, as they use the termination fees as the reason for the price. It is almost an anticompetitive practice, and I can see why 2 degrees wants it scrapped, as 2 degreed ends up paying more to VF and TC, than they get back. This is becuase more people send to VF and TC from a 2 degrees mobile, than are sent from VF & TC mobiles to 2degrees. This is why they can price txts that are sent within their own network so low.
